A Nest Upon My Pillow

Sweet robins at my birdbath outside my studio.
I love birds! Not birds in a cage in the house, birds outside! Every Spring I anticipate the birds busy gathering all that is needed to make a cozy nest for the eggs soon to appear. I always put scraps of organic cotton, moss, my corgi's hair, etc in a basket on the porch and watch as all day long outside my studio window as  the birds come and go with a selection they have made from it.

This pillow was an inspiration of this wonderful process. I always save my scraps, large or tiny, in a bin in my studio. I grabbed all sorts of scraps to form this sweet nest. I made the egg out of wool roving. I have already sold different versions of this pillow a few times in my etsy shop: http://www.therobinandsparrow.etsy.com/ . You can go to my sold items and find them there, for inspiration.
